90s & 00s ALTERNATIVE • CLASSIC ROCK • ACOUSTIC
Solo acoustic and full-band live music in Richmond, VA and beyond.
After nearly two decades behind a guitar, Cory Evans found his voice somewhere along the way. What started with harmonies and the occasional lead vocal grew through years of live shows with Ten4One, countless hours performing online, and eventually stepping out front as a singer in his own right. Today, Cory brings a gritty, slightly raspy voice and a guitarist’s energy to both solo acoustic shows and full-band performances.
Built around the songs people actually want to hear, Cory’s sets lean heavily into the 90s and early 2000s alternative rock he grew up on, mixed with classic rock favorites, a little country, and plenty of songs that make you say, “I forgot how much I loved this one.” There may be a setlist on stage, but it’s never set in stone. Cory watches the room, calls audibles, takes requests, and builds the show around the crowd in front of him.
Whether it’s an acoustic night or a high-energy show with Cory & The Stone Expressions, the goal is the same: make the audience feel like the show is being played for them.
Cory Evans Music provides live entertainment throughout Richmond and Central Virginia, from crowd-driven solo acoustic shows to high-energy performances with Cory Evans & The Stone Expressions.
The covers bring people together. The originals tell the rest of the story.
Alongside the songs that fill the live sets, Cory has written and released dozens of original songs of his own. The music often digs into the heavier side of life — pain, struggle, addiction and everything that comes with it — while leaving room for family, love and the things worth holding onto.
Originals occasionally find their way into the live show, but you can hear much more of that side of Cory Evans Music here.
